Students from the upstairs and downstairs teams collaborated together to build a structure to withstand an earthquake. For the challenge, teams were asked to create a 12 inch structure using given amounts of toothpicks, straws, dry spaghetti, mini marshmallows, gumdrops, twist ties and yarn. Once they built their structures, they tested it by giggling it on top of a pan of jello. Teams were able revise and rebuild after each test to make it stronger.
