About Mrs. Whitehouse-
This is my sixteenth year teaching and I love it just as much as the day I started! I started out teaching third grade and then moved onto fourth grade where I have been for the last eleven years. I received my Bachelor's Degree in 2000 and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2009.
In my spare time, I love to travel and camp with my family. I have a daughter who is in sixth grade and a son who is in third grade. They keep me plenty busy! Reading is another favorite pastime. I enjoy reading the books from the Maine Student Book Award list. My most recent read was, Flutter. It was heartwarming!
I will be your Reading/Writing teacher this year, as well as your child's social studies teacher. Our units in writing will focus on narrative, informational, and opinion pieces this year. Our units in reading will focus on building a reading life, character development, nonfiction, historical fiction, and poetry. For a closer look at the standards please visit the tabs at the top labeled, Reading and Writing Curriculum.
About Mrs. Felice-
This is my fourteenth year teaching in a variety of places and settings. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, second, third, fourth and fifth grade for at least a year each but fourth grade is my favorite:) I received my Bachelor's Degree in 2000 in Art Education from Ohio State University and my Master's Degree in Social Justice Education from University of California, Santa Cruz in 2014.
I love traveling, gardening and cooking but am usually busy hanging out with my baby girl, husband, and doggie. One of our favorite things to do around town is the Bog Walk at the Bangor City Forest. Of all the places I've lived and traveled to I've never seen anything quite like it. What a unique ecosystem!
I will be teaching Math and Science this year. We will use the Everyday Math curriculum for math and Stemscopes for science. Please see the math and science sections of the menu for more details on our learning units.
About Mrs. Randall-
I want to thank all the staff, students and families at Weatherbee for being so understanding and welcoming since I have come on board with the 4th grade team as a reading/spelling teacher.
I studied and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. I have worked as a fourth grade teacher in RSU 64, head teacher for Bright Horizons in Belfast, and for the past eleven years, as a third grade teacher in RSU 19.
I have two boys, Gabe who is in 6th grade at the Etna/Dixmont School, and Cameron who is a senior at Nokomis. My husband, Gene, is a construction operator for Sargent Corporation. We enjoy cruising in our 1970 Chevelle in the summer, camping and swimming.
I will be using Lucy Calkins units of studying reading to help each student become a better reader and thinker.
